Q What are the dates of ABIDE STP?
A The dates for ABIDE will be from June 1 to August 1, 2020. Team leaders can expect to have a short orientation starting a few days earlier.
Q What is the cost of ABIDE STP?
A The new cost of the program $350, which is able to be fundraised through The Navigators. This program fee cover a variety of resources we hope will bless your summer. This includes a potential all-program event pending travel restrictions being lifted. Should this event not happen, a portion of your program fee will pay for your next Navigator conference, like the Weekender.
Q Can I take summer classes or get a job?
A Yes! As long as you can fulfill the ~12 hour commitment to your team and to the program (24 hours per week for Team Leaders). With your class & work schedules, please keep Tuesday & Thursday nights after 6pm open for ABIDE STP activities. Other program activities will be time flexible. Team Leaders please keep Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings open.
Q Is this a “virtual program”?
A While we will use a variety of virtual platforms to interact with one another throughout the summer, we are committed to finding other creative outlets for interacting with teammates, others in the program and with the Lord! We will be flexible and adaptable in ever-changing circumstances
Q Can I invite others from my campus to join ABIDE STP?
A Yes, we are accepting new applications until the deadline of Friday May 15th.
- Rooted in the Lord - Our first priority in ABIDE is to help you grow in your relationship with God through being in the scriptures, doing Bible study, and prayer. You will be able to do this individually and through being on a team with other students.
- Authentic Connection - Summer can be a period of isolation away from campus and away from your friends. We want you to be known and to grow deep friendships with other like-minded students that will last a lifetime. We want to grow in authentic connections through building trust and growing deeper in vulnerability. By taking part in ABIDE we also commit to each student being discipled one-to-one by a team leader or Navigator staff member.
- Bearing Fruit - ABIDE is a high commitment, high reward program focused on your own spiritual growth, but also pushing outward into sharing the goodness of life in Christ in your natural relational networks. Asking intentional questions to family, serving neighbors, praying for co-workers – think of how God might ignite Gospel movements through you this summer!
- Leadership Development - Team Leaders will come alongside their teammates in a unique way this summer. Through both experience and staff investment, ABIDE STP is passionate about helping Team Leaders grow as Christ-followers and develop as disciple-makers.
What to Expect
- ABIDE will take place right where you are at, though a hybrid of digital media and other creative outlets.
- A time commitment of 12 hrs per week for Team Members, 24 hrs per week for Team Leaders.
- Weekly one-to-one discipleship with your team leader or a Navigators staff member.
- Weekly Bible study with your team, and weekly gatherings as an entire program.
- Personal time for Bible study and time alone with God.
- To be challenged to bring the Gospel to those around you.
- Daily interaction with your team.
- To have fun (in new and creative ways)!
- Optional pathways for more development.
